Police are searching for a suspect connected to a violent carjacking in Upper Tantallon.

Halifax RCMP say around 8:45 p.m. on Jan. 18, officers responded to reports of a vehicle theft that had occurred on French Village Station Rd.

At the scene, officers learned the driver of a Ford Transit van was parked when a man, possibly in his 30s, allegedly pulled them from the van and tossed them to the ground before driving off.

Mounties say the suspect drove off in the van toward Highway 103.

In a release, the RCMP said the van was found a short time later on St. Margarets Bay Road in Ingramport, due to a GPS tracking device.
