A man is facing charges after a robbery at a Mic Mac Mall jewellery store.

Halifax Regional Police were called to the Crescent Gold and Diamonds store just before 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

They say a man broke a display case and took a piece of jewellery, then pushed an employee who tried to stop him.

The suspect ran into the mall where he was detained by two bystanders and mall security officers.

Alexander Kenneth Pritchett, 27, is scheduled to appear in court today to face charges of robbery and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Police say he’s also facing charges of  theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 in relation to an August 10, 2020 incident in Dartmouth.
