One man is facing an attempted murder charge following a stabbing that occurred in Halifax earlier this month.

Police say it happened on July 10 at approximately 11:15 p.m. Officers were called to the 2000 block of Gottingen St. where a man had been stabbed. The 45-year-old victim was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the victim and the suspect were not known to each other but had an argument prior to the attack.

Around 8 a.m. on July 24, police executed two search warrants at two different residences on Nova Court in Dartmouth. Officers say a vehicle was seized and a one man was arrested.

Donavin Andrew Diggs, 30, will appear in Halifax provincial court to face charges of attempted murder and possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace.
