Man charged with assault after fight in Dartmouth

A man is facing an assault charge after a fight in Dartmouth Tuesday night.

At around 9:45 p.m. Halifax Regional Police were told of a disturbance involving a group of people on Highfield Park Drive.

Arriving officers say they watched one man punch another man, knocking the victim to the ground. He had to be taken to hospital for what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

According to police, while being placed under arrest, the suspect continued to threaten the victim.

The 20-year-old has also been charged with uttering threats and breach of probation.

He will appear in court at a later date.
