Man charged for entering homes under false pretenses

Regional police have charged a man for entering two homes under false pretenses this past weekend.

Police were called to an apartment building on the Bedford Highway in connection to a man who pretended to be a representative of the building’s management and was there to do an inspection of the apartment.

Police say the tenant initially let the man in but became uncomfortable with the man’s behaviour and when she called to verify the man’s identity, he left the apartment.

While on scene officers received a second report that a man pretended to be with building management and was there to do an inspection of the apartment.

Police say in this incident, the man assaulted the tenant when she asked him to leave.

The suspect was arrested in the area a short time later without further incident.

Samuel Boimah McGill, 24, was scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court Monday to face two counts of being unlawfully in a dwelling-house and one count of assault.
