A 59-year old man has been charged with sexual assault after an incident at a liquor store in Shelburne.

RCMP say the incident occurred on September 25, after the suspect entered the store and allegedly grabbed a female employee by her hair and pulled her towards him in a sexually suggestive manner.

In a release, RCMP say he also made sexually inappropriate comments towards the victim.

Robert Stephen Blakeney was arrested and charged with sexual assault.

He was released on conditions but will appear in Shelburne Provincial Court in December.
