The RCMP say the incident happened on Saturday evening. Officers were called just before 7:30 p.m. to Huckleberry Lane in the New Ross area, to reports of a hit-and-run involving a child. Police say a Ford F-250 struck the child in a beach parking lot and then took off. A family member rushed the child to the New Ross Volunteer Fire Department for medical attention. The child was later taken to hospital by EHS with non-life-threatening injuries. Just before 9 p.m., officers found an F-250, believed to be the truck involved, parked along New Russell Road. The driver, 35-year-old Jacob Thomas Walker of Chester Grant, has been charged with failing to remain at the scene and impaired operation. When he was at the detachment, police said he had breath samples of 210 mg per cent and 200 mg per cent. Walker was expected to appear in court on Monday in Bridgewater. 0 comment 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail admin previous post Halifax business’ optimism lowers after Trump’s ‘Liberation Day’ next post Halifax has among highest child care costs across Canadian cities: new study You may also like RCI : What it will take to restore... 16 يونيو، 2026 RCI : Canada cracking down on asylum claims...
