A 30-year-old man is facing a long list of charges after threatening people with a firearm on a South Shore trail, according to the RCMP.

The Mounties say officers were called to the trail near Port Medway on May 7, where witnesses said the man had made threats to hurt or kill “numerous” people on the trail.

The man was arrested on Friday at a hotel in Liverpool, according to police.

Michael Gerald Wentzell is facing weapons charges in addition to uttering threats.

He’s expected to appear in court on Monday.

The RCMP meantime is asking for the public’s helping finding the firearm used in the incident. Anyone with information is asked to reach out to police or Crime Stoppers.
