Macdonald bridge to close this upcoming weekend

People crossing Halifax harbour will have one fewer option this upcoming weekend. 

The Macdonald Bridge will be closed the weekend of Mar. 31 to Apr. 3, Halifax Harbour Bridges announced.

The closure will come into effect at 7 p.m. Friday, with the span reopening on Monday at 5:30 a.m.

HHB said while it understands the closure is an inconvenience – particularly as the Halifax Mooseheads will start their playoff run this weekend – it said the work is necessary.
