Lunenburg RCMP catch man wanted on Canada-wide arrest warrant

Lunenburg District RCMP have arrested a man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

On Monday evening, investigators were tipped off that Justin Omond was at a home on Bond Drive in Chester. When RCMP officers arrived at the scene, Omond fled on foot into a wooded area.

A few hours later, Omond was found and arrested without incident.

In addition to previous charges stemming from outstanding warrants, the 34-year-old is now also charged with resisting arrest.

He appeared in court and was remanded into custody. Omond is scheduled to return to Halifax Provincial Court next month.
