Lower Sackville crash kills Lake Echo woman; passengers in hospital

RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Sackville Drive near Hillcrest Avenue.

At around 9:35 a.m. on Monday police say a Mazda 3 left the road and struck a power pole.

A 50-year-old woman from Lake Echo, a rear passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, a 53-year-old man from North Preston, and another passenger, a 56-year-old man from Dartmouth, were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A collision reconstructionist is on-site, and the investigation is ongoing.
