Lifeguard shortage affects supervision at four municipal beaches

Halifax Regional Municipality says a lifeguard shortage is affecting supervision this summer at four municipal beaches.

Campbell Point in Brookside and Pleasant Drive Beach on Petpeswick Lake will only be supervised on weekdays.

And there will be no supervision this summer at Webber’s Beach on Lake Charlotte and Malay Falls north of Sheet Harbour.

HRM’s beaches officially opened for the summer season on Canada Day.
