Police are asking the public to stay away from the Joseph Young Street while they conduct a search

UPDATE: Halifax Regional Police say they are no longer on scene on Joseph Young Street.

Halifax Regional Police say there is “no threat to public safety” as there is a large police presence in a Dartmouth neighbourhood Tuesday morning.

They says the Guns and Gangs Unit, along with the Emergency Response Team, are searching a residence on Joseph Young Street, off Highfield Park Drive, in relation to an ongoing investigation.

“We ask members of the public to avoid the area to allow officers to conduct the search and investigation,” said HRP in a news release.

“An update will be provided when available.”
