CityNews Halifax Staff Listen to this article Halifax Regional Police is closely monitoring the movement of ongoing protests involving a large number of vehicles travelling through Nova Scotia this weekend, which are expected to have an impact on some parts of the Halifax Regional Municipality on Sunday and Monday. Officers will be present as necessary to direct traffic, minimize disruptions and promote public safety. HRP expects there will be an impact to traffic on a number of roadways and streets. As police have more information, they will continue to provide updates through their social media channels. HRP reminds all attendees and members of the public to follow applicable rules and requirements related to COVID-19 emergency measures, the Motor Vehicle Act and other laws. “Our approach always starts with engagement; however, we will enforce as necessary including under the provisions of the emergency order,” a Sunday morning release read. “Vehicles and people must make room for emergency vehicles to pass through. We advise everyone planning to participate in these events to follow the rules and take responsibility for your actions.
