RCMP were called when a 26-year-old Windsor man with stab wounds arrived at a hospital in Windsor at 8:30 a.m. last Tuesday. Investigators were able to determine the incident happened on Bishopville Rd. in Bishopville, and they believe it was targeted. The victim’s injuries were serious, but non-life threatening and he was able to identify two suspects. “RCMP investigators also determined that a third suspect had attempted to aid the two suspects involved in the stabbing,” police allege in a news release. Mounties then arrested a 67-year-old Hantsport man outside a home on Riverview Rd. in Hantsport, and they say a search of the property turned up firearms, ammunition and cleaning supplies. Police also seized a vehicle they believe was used during the stabbing. Last Thursday afternoon, Mounties arrested two suspects they believe were involved in the stabbing, a 41-year-old Liverpool man and a 22-year-old Halifax woman. All three — Eric Hubley, 41, Lexus Young, 22, and Arnold Clifton Messervey, 67 — have been charged with: Attempt to Commit Murder; Aggravated Assault; Assault with a Weapon (two counts); Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose; Uttering Threats; Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized; Contravention of Firearms Storage Regulations; Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order In addition, Messervey is facing a charge of unauthorized possession of a firearm. He has been released on conditions and will appear in Kentville Provincial Court on September 27 at 9:30 a.m. Hubley is also being charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm and two counts of failure to comply with conditions of a release order.
