The wastewater pumping station on Farmers Dairy Lane is no longer overflowing into Sandy Lake.

In a release, Halifax Water says they have contained the situation after weekend flooding caused the pumping station to fail.

Operations continued yesterday however they do advise visitors and pet owners avoid any activity that requires water contact at Sandy Lake at this time.

They are also asking people to continue to reduce flushing as much as possible in the area impacted, adding a map of that area can be found on their website.

Meantime, the wastewater system near Fletcher Lake also resumed normal operations yesterday, says the utility in a separate release.
