A suspect vehicle fled from another investigation and was involved in the collision

UPDATE: Oxford St. between Edinburgh St. and Almon St. is expected to be closed most of the day Tuesday after last night’s crash. A police spokesperson says Nova Scotia Power will likely be on-scene until supper time.

HALIFAX REGIONAL POLICE
Halifax Regional Police are currently on-scene at Oxford St and Almon St in Halifax due to a motor vehicle collision.
Just prior, while officers were conducting an investigation in the nearby area, a suspect vehicle fled the area and was pursued. The vehicle was involved in a motor vehicle collision with another vehicle, knocking over a light standard.
Police have the driver of the vehicle in custody after a brief foot pursuit. The investigation is in its early stages. Two persons were treated by EHS for what is believed to be minor injuries.
Police are asking the public to remain away from the area while the investigation continues as the roadway is blocked on Oxford Street between Edinburgh St and Almon St.
Further updates will be provided when known and the streets are re opened.
