On July 17, police released a photo of a man who was believed to be involved in the scam, however, that person has been identified and is no longer considered a suspect in the incident from earlier this week. On July 15, police responded to a report of a fraud that had occurred in Halifax where a scammer pretending to be a family member called a resident saying they needed bail money. Another person, posing as a person of authority, gave instructions on how the money would be collected and a courier came to the person’s residence on Chipstone Close to pick up the cash. Investigators are now looking to identify a man who is believed to be involved in the incident. Police have described the person as in his late 20s, tall, thin and of East Asian descent.
