On Dec. 9, 1955, at roughly 2 a.m., police responded to a report from a taxi driver about a delivery van parked in an unusual manner on Acadia and Roome streets. Police said Michael Leo Resk was found in the back of the van. He was dead due to gunshot wounds. According to HRP, investigators believe he left his home on Poplar Street to go to his store on Gottingen Street and lock up for the night. The case remains unsolved 70 years later and police are asking anyone with information, who has not already spoken to police, to come forward. Police went on to say what may seem like an insignificant detail could be the key to progressing the investigation into Michael’s murder.
