UPDATE: Halifax Regional Police says members of the guns and gangs section, as well as the emergency response team, are currently in the Abrams Way area near Spryfield.

Officers are no longer in Clayton Park near the Chelsea Lane area, but the investigation is ongoing.

A news release says the RCMP assisted in the operation.

HRP asks people to avoid the Abrams Way area until a further update is provided.

Halifax Regional Police (HRP) is asking people to avoid an area in Clayton Park on Saturday morning as officers complete a search warrant.

Police are currently on scene in the Chelsea Lane area near Dunbrack Street.

“There is no threat to public safety,” an HRP news release says. “However, we ask members of the public to avoid the area to allow officers to conduct the search and investigation.”

HRP says officers with the guns and gangs section, as well as the emergency response team, are completing the warrant.

HRP adds that there will be an update provided when available.
