Halifax MP Andy Fillmore weighing mayoral run

A local Member of Parliament is considering putting his name forward for mayor in the next municipal election.

Halifax Liberal MP Andy Fillmore told reporters on Tuesday he is weighing the possibility after news that Mike Savage will not be re-offering after 12 years as mayor.

Fillmore said he planned to make the decision sooner rather than later.

HRM councillor Pam Lovelace told CityNews last week she is also considering a mayoral run. Fellow councillor Waye Mason has previously said he could run if Savage decided not to.
