Halifax Mooseheads pick up 9-2 win over Cape Breton Eagles

The Halifax Mooseheads put on an impressive showing Tuesday night, dominating the Cape Breton Eagles 9-2.

Evan Boucher netted a pair for the Herd in the opening period while Markus Vidicek added his own tally.

Nicholas Girouard scored the lone Cape Breton goal in the first period.

Jordan Dumais, Attilio Biasca and Mathieu Cataford extended Halifax’s lead to 6-1 early in the second period.

Zachary Beauregard added to their lead later in the period.

Dumais scored his second of the evening early in the final period on a power play.

Ivan Ivan netted the Eagles’ first goal since the first period but Cataford answered right back to make it a 9-2 final.

The Mooseheads are back in the Scotiabank Centre on Friday to welcome the Moncton Wildcats.
