At roughly 4 a.m., emergency crews responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Hwy. 101 between exit 14 and 15. RCMP said a 2009 Chevrolet Impala, was traveling eastbound on the highway when it veered off onto the right shoulder, rolled, and came to rest in the ditch on the north side of the road. Both the driver and the passenger were transported to hospital. The driver, a 35-year-old Halifax man, was pronounced dead. The crash resulted in Hwy. 101 being closed between exits 14 and 15 for several hours before reopening later that morning.
