At roughly 4 a.m., emergency crews responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Highway 101 between exit 14 and 15. RCMP said a 2009 Chevrolet Impala, was travelling eastbound on the highway when it veered off onto the right shoulder, rolled, and came to rest in the ditch on the north side of the road. Both the driver and the passenger were transported to hospital. The driver, a 35-year-old Halifax man, was pronounced dead. The crash resulted in Highway 101 being closed between exits 14 and 15 for several hours before reopening later that morning.
