In Quebec, the legislation prohibits provincial employees from wearing religious symbols while working. Halifax Coun. Tony Mancini had asked for a letter opposing the law and a $50,000 grant for the groups taking it to court. Mancini said Tuesday he received a lot of emails and calls on the issue over the past few days — some opposed to the idea and some who expressed pride about the move. Most of his colleagues agreed with the idea of written support. “I couldn’t wear a cross to work and someone else couldn’t wear a hijab? I believe it comes down to human rights and freedom of religion,” said Coun. Iona Stoddard. A majority of councillors voted against the idea of a grant for the court case. 5 comments 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail admin previous post رحلة “جيمس ويب” لاستكشاف سكان الفضاء تقلق أهل الأرض next post Cape Breton medical staff launch new clinic to improve death rate You may also like Manitoba man killed in Shubenacadie car crash 27 أبريل، 2026 Prime Minister Mark Carney announces Canada’s 1st sovereign... 27 أبريل، 2026 Power restored after thousands in the dark in... 2026 Liberals must show results in spring economic update:... 27 أبريل، 2026 Bayers Road blood collection clinic to reopen Tuesday 17 مارس، 2026 Leave a Comment Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.
