Environment Canada issued the weather warning early Sunday morning
CITYnews halifax \ Chris Stoodley
Environment Canada has issued a weather warning indicating that the Halifax area will see strong winds that may cause damage.
Southeasterly winds between 80 to 100 km/h are expected to hit the area between Monday afternoon and Monday evening.
“High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break,” the weather warning says. “Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.”
Similar weather warnings indicating strong winds are in effect for other Nova Scotia counties except for Victoria County and Inverness County — south of Mabou.
To report severe weather, people can contact Environment Canada by sending an email to NSstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweeting reports using #NSStorm.
