The driver, who was traveling at 177 km/h in a 110 km/h zone, was also issued a seven-day driving suspension and the vehicle was impounded. The incident occurred on Hwy. 101 in Lower Sackville, where an RCMP Southeast Traffic Services member was conducting speed enforcement. On July 27, members of the RCMP Southeast Traffic Services were also conducting a proactive traffic assignment on St. Margaret’s Bay Road in Upper Tantallon as a result of numerous complaints. RCMP say they stopped a vehicle that was not displaying a license plate and observed that the driver was displaying signs of impairment. After providing a breath sample, a 21-year-old Hubley man was issued a 7-day driving suspension after his blood alcohol level was deemed over the provincial limit.
