A dentist in the Halifax area is being accused of assaulting patients.

Halifax Regional Police say they launched their investigation 15 months ago.

“In November of 2020, Halifax Regional Police received numerous reports that a man who was working as a dentist had assaulted patients at numerous locations over a period of time from the 1970s to 2020,” HRP said in a news release.

A 78-year-old-man was arrested Tuesday.

Police did not name the suspect but say he will appear in court at a later date to face eight counts of assault.
