According to the Nova Scotia SPCA, Lorraine Murphy of Dartmouth has been charged with four counts of causing distress under the Animal Protection Act of Nova Scotia. The SPCA says this comes after it investigated several animal cruelty complaints of animal abuse during dog grooming appointments at Murphy’s facility in Dartmouth. No further details were provided as to what took place during the appointments. Murphy is now scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court in March to face those charges.
