On August 5, Halifax Water asked customers to reduce their water use, saying a lack of precipitation that has led to drought conditions in the Halifax area has also led to lower-than-normal water levels at Lake Major and Pockwock Lake. In an update on Thursday, the utility suggests people are not using less water. “Without significant precipitation and increased conservation measures, these water levels will continue to lower and mandatory conservation measures will be required,” reads a statement from Halifax Water. It has asked people to voluntarily follow certain measures, like reducing toilet flushing and shortening showers, turning off the taps when not in use and washing only full loads of laundry and dishes. It is also asking people to limit washing vehicles, filling pools and watering lawns and gardens, though it says fruit and vegetable gardens are permitted. 0 comment 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail admin previous post Police search for missing Dartmouth teen next post New provincial alert app aims to fill gaps in N.S. cellular coverage You may also like Wilkie wins Canada’s first gold medal at Milan... 8 مارس، 2026 Iranian state TV says Mojtaba Khamenei, son of... 8 مارس، 2026 Missing police badge recovered in proactive traffic stop 8 مارس، 2026 Mooseheads win season series against Eagles 8 مارس، 2026 PM Carney calls federal by-elections for April in... 8 مارس، 2026 بمشاعر تتأرجح بين الارتياح والتوتر: كنديون يغادرون لبنان... 8 مارس، 2026 Diesel prices to shift again in Nova Scotia... 6 مارس، 2026 Halifax Water investigating ‘privacy incident’ on its online... 6 مارس، 2026 Halifax teens lament the loss of government program... 6 مارس، 2026 Spring Garden area businesses call out paid parking... 6 مارس، 2026
