The RCMP said the crash, which saw a Volkswagon Jetta leave the road and strike a power pole, happened on Hwy. 4 in Ben Eoin. The driver, a man from Lingan, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers in the vehicle were taken to hospital, a 21-year-old woman with serious injuries and a 20-year-old man with non-life-threatening injuries.
