Officers were called to reports of a man carrying a firearm on Hillcrest Avenue in Bible Hill. Nearby schools went into lockdown as the alert-ready notification was sent out to surrounding counties. The suspect was arrested less than an hour later by Truro police officers who handed him over the RCMP. The mounties say 38-year-old Thomas Francis Joseph MacGillivray is charged with uttering threats, intimidation, careless use of a firearm and other offences. He was scheduled to be in court on Monday, and police say the investigation is ongoing.
