Bedford crash claims the life of an East Hants man

A Hillsvale man was killed Friday evening in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 7 in Bedford.  Halifax RCMP were called to the scene at the Bedford Bypass Dartmouth road split at the top of Magazine Hill at 7:25 p.m. to find a car that had rolled into the ditch.

Police believe the car’s driver lost control while trying to pass another vehicle.  The driver, a 36-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The highway in the crash area was closed for several hours on Friday but has since reopened.

RCMP say their investigation into the crash is ongoing and has brought in a collision reconstructionist to assist.
