The province says the Dartmouth club is getting more than $330,000 from the Sustainable Communities Challenge Fund. “We are excited about dramatically decreasing our carbon footprint and contributing to improving the health of Lake Banook,” Jim Johnson, president of the Banook Canoe Club, said in a news release. The money will be used to install rooftop solar panels, upgrade the heating and HVAC systems, and replace five gas powered safety boat engines with battery-powered engines. Environment minister Tim Halman says the upgrades will transform the community hub into a sustainable gathering place for generations to come. 0 comment 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail admin previous post Nova Scotia school support staff want a say in addressing school violence next post You may also like Halifax murder trial: Eyewitness describes fatal stabbing of... 7 يناير، 2025 Halifax police look for missing 35-year-old man last... 7 يناير، 2025 Family doctor waitlist numbers drop, Nova Scotia Health... 7 يناير، 2025 Man in his 70s killed at crosswalk; HRP... 7 يناير، 2025 Former volunteer pleads guilty to fraud after funds...
