Attempted murder charges laid in Bedford high school stabbings

Police say the two staff members who were stabbed are in serious but stable condition

A 15-year-old faces a long list of charges, including two counts of attempted murder, after Monday’s stabbing at a school in Bedford. 

Halifax Regional Police announced the charges in a release on Tuesday morning.

The youth, who cannot be named, is facing the following charges:

• Attempted murder (2x)
• Aggravated assault (2x)
• Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace (2x)
• Carrying a concealed weapon (2x)
• Possession of a prohibited weapon
• Possession of a weapon knowing it is unauthorized
• Mischief

According to police, the youth fled the building after the incident around 9:20 a.m. Monday. The teen was taken into custody nearby about 10 minutes later.

As for the two staff members who were stabbed, HRP says they are in serious but stable condition in hospital.
