Two people are facing a long list of charges, including attempted murder, after a home invasion earlier this week.

The Mounties say a man and a woman broke into a home in Upper Hammonds Plains on Wednesday afternoon just after 1 p.m.

Police say the man then fired a rifle toward a man inside that home, and the victim them grabbed an axe and chased the pair off. RCMP says the suspect and victim knew one another.

The two suspects then ended up in a car crash in Sweets Corner and were arrested.

Brian Edward Mutch, 25, and Haley Patricia Hunter, 22, both face many charges now including attempt to commit murder. Hunter is scheduled to be in court next week, with Mutch having a date set for June.
