A recreational water quality advisory has been issued for Kinap Beach in Porters Lake.

The municipality says the advisory is in place due to high bacteria levels in the water, and says people should avoid swimming in the water.

A previous advisory for Kinap Beach was lifted two weeks ago.

Also on Friday, the HRM announced Cunard Pond Beach in Halifax was being reopened to the public after a blue-green algae toxin testing that are within Health Canada guidelines.
