A total of 53 tickets handed out Friday under Health Protection Act

Halifax Regional Police handed out a total of 53 tickets under the Health Protection Act Friday for violating gathering limits.

The first two were given to 18-year-old men after officers were called to investigate a party just before 4 p.m.

Then at around 7:45 p.m., they were told of a second party at another home. Officers wrote 51 tickets at that location.

Currently up to 10 people are allowed at an informal gathering.
