A Lower Sackville man has been killed in a crash involving a tractor trailer in Cumberland County.

The RCMP said the crash happened in Springhill Junction around 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 14.

A tractor trailer was heading east on Hwy. 104 and struck the driver of a pickup truck who’d pulled over to secure his load, police said.

The driver of the pickup, a 53-year-old man from Lower Sackville, was killed at the scene. A youth in the truck wasn’t hurt.

The tractor trailer driver also didn’t suffer any injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, and the highway has since reopened.
