Canada Post resumed mail service in Nova Scotia on Tuesday, but said some areas would still see delays because of flood impacts.

On Monday, the carrier issued a Red Alert, cancelling all mail service and closing offices in the province after historic flooding.

In a Tuesday morning update, Canada Post said offices were reopening and mail would be collected and delivered where it’s safe to do so.

“The company has issued a yellow alert for Nova Scotia, with mail services unavailable in some areas due to safety concerns or access issues,” a statement read.

It says the situation is being assessed and updates will be communicated with Nova Scotians.
