Halifax Pride parade postponed due to historic flooding

The Halifax Pride parade won’t be going ahead on Sunday as planned.

Halifax Pride announced the event will be moved to another date as heavy rains created flash flooding conditions in the Halifax area.

A state of emergency was declared on Saturday afternoon.

“In the interest of safety and to assist in recovery efforts, the Halifax Pride Board along with Halifax Emergency Management have made the difficult decision to reschedule the Halifax Pride Parade,” the organization announced on Twitter.

The parade is expected to be rescheduled.
