Weather statement calls for wet weekend in Halifax

It’s not great news ahead of a busy weekend of events in the Halifax area.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the HRM and much of the province, calling for 40 to 80 mm of rain by Sunday night.

Rain is expected to start around the noon hour Friday and continue on-and-off over the weekend.

The national forecaster adding that because of the tropical nature of the moisture feeding the system, we could see heavy downpours at times giving some areas higher amounts of rain.
