Preston by-election to be held in early August

The province has officially announced a by-election for the electoral district of Preston.

The three major parties all have their candidates selected and ready to go. Colter Simmonds is running for the NDP, Carlo Simmons for the Liberals and Twila Grosse for the Progressive Conservatives.

Election day is scheduled for Tues., Aug. 8.

The Preston riding has been without an MLA since April after Angela Simmonds stepped down following an unsuccesful run for Liberal party leader.
