A fire at a home in the Uniacke Square area over the weekend has forced six people out of their homes, according to the Canadian Red Cross.

The organization said the fire broke out early Sunday morning, causing major damage to one unit and impacting neighbouring homes as well.

No injuries were reported in the fire.

The Red Cross is helping out a woman and two children from one of the units with emergency lodging and some necessities. The other three people displaced by the fire have found somewhere to stay with help from management of the housing complex.
