Dartmouth woman seriously injured in campground fight

East Hants District RCMP have apprehended a Halifax man following an assault at a campground in Shubenacadie Saturday morning. At around 2:15 a.m., the RCMP and EHS received a report of a fight at a campground located on Hwy 215 in Shubenacadie. Upon arrival, officers discovered a severely injured 23-year-old woman. EHS transported the Dartmouth woman to the hospital with what police called life-threatening injuries.

A 26-year-old man from Halifax was arrested at the scene on charges of aggravated assault, and he remains in custody. Police indicate that the victim, the suspect, and two other adults were staying together in a camper at the time of the incident. The altercation escalated from an argument between the suspect and the victim, leading to the assault.
