In a release, government says the Small Business Wildfire Relief Program is now available to businesses outside the mandatory evacuation zones that were closed for at least five days because of the fires. Previously the one-time, $2,500 grant was only available to businesses within those evacuation zones. The province says the original program was expected to cost around $1.5 million, and it expects this expansion will cost another $1 million on top of that.
