Man faces multiple firearms related charges

Regional police have charged a man in connection to a firearms investigation.

On Saturday at roughly 7:30 p.m., officers arrested a man in the area of Highfield Park Drive in relation to a firearms investigation.

Police say man got out of a vehicle and tried to flee from police but was arrested after a short foot pursuit.

Officers seized a loaded firearm from the man.

Stephen Derez Brown-Beals, 22, was scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court on Monday to face charges of:

• Possession of a firearm obtained by crime
• Possession of a loaded firearm
• Possession of a firearm in a vehicle
• Possession of a firearm without a license
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm
• Carrying a concealed weapon
• Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public
• Storing a firearm contrary to the regulations
• Unsafe storage of a firearm
• Possession of property obtained by crime
• Resisting arrest
• Possession of a firearm contrary to a court order (x2)
• Fail to comply with a probation order (x4)
