A weather roller coaster is expected to continue this week in Nova Scotia.

After a weekend of sun and Spring-like temperatures, a special weather statement is warning of a winter storm.

Environment Canada’s statement, in effect for most of mainland Nova Scotia except for the southwestern counties, calls for 10 to 25 cm of snow starting Tuesday.

The snow is expected to spread across the province through the day on Tuesday, continuing into Wednesday for eastern parts of Nova Scotia. It says mainland Nova Scotia will likely see a switch to rain.

It’s expected to be windy, too, with gusts of 60 km/h and up to 80 km/h along the coast.

The hourly Environment Canada forecast shows a snow and rain mix for Halifax on Tuesday. The national forecaster asked people to keep an eye on its warnings as the forecast firms up.
