Regional Police were called to Bedford and Forsythe Education Centre on Pinecrest Drive in Dartmouth around 1:30 Monday afternoon after a report that a student at the school may have possessed several weapons.

The suspect had already left the scene when police arrived, but the youth was spotted in the area a short time later.

Police seized a replica firearm from the suspect during the arrest.

A short investigation also revealed a pair of knives that police say the suspect left behind at the school.

The teen has been charged with possessing a dangerous weapon to public peace and mischief and will appear in court later.
