While there are no weather alerts in effect, CityNews weather specialist Denise Andreacchi said the HRM is likely to see 5-10 cm of snow through to Friday evening. And that winter weather made it a snow day for Halifax-area students. As of 7 a.m., the municipality said most surfaces were snow-covered, and operations were active in all areas. Halifax Regional Police was asking people to drive carefully in the snow.
